The Novels of PG Owyns

How PG Owyns came to be...

I’ve been asked over the years why choose to write under a penname?

The answer is simple, it’s a way to let readers know what they are getting into.

I still remember when Anne McCaffery released a romance called The Lady. It’s romance. No dragons, spaceships or other science fiction related things at all. I knew several people who were more than a little disappointed, because they were not readers of romance. If she'd used a penname, maybe there would have been a little less gnashing of teeth.

Another author whom I enjoy has a penname to differentiate her modern mysteries from Victorian ones.

PG Owyns is a way to say: This book will be gentle. This book will be about love and life and healing and nature. There will be no strange creatures from ages past, there will be no dragons and there will be no bodies in archaeological trenches (or anywhere else.)

After the Frost

In the majestic forests of 1928 Pacific Northwest, Julian Powell seeks solace from a life of suffocating expectations. Fleeing a grim fate, he escapes to a weathered farmhouse where time slows, and the trees whisper secrets. There, tending to a childhood friend, Julian finds an unexpected family and peace in quiet moments and the rhythm of the land.

But he harbors a secret from those around him: he is D.S. Remington, the elusive author whose words captivate the world. As winter thaws into spring, Julian discovers healing in nature, friendship, and a love he never expected. Will revealing his secret mend his fractured heart—or shatter the refuge he’s built?

After the Frost is a lyrical tale of resilience and renewal, where the heart finds strength in the embrace of the wild.
