Critical acclaim for Muffy Morrigan

The Sail Weaver

Lunasgathering, amazon.com

Morrigan perfectly melds vastly differents genres, tall sailing ships designed for space guided by magic, in a way that feels natural. I was drawn in immediately and never let down as the characters are developed and plot unfolds. I absolutely LOVED Lokey Fenfyr and his relationship with Tristan. They are true heroes; the kind of characters missing from so much modern fiction that thinks to blur the line between right and wrong is the way to create drama. While the conclusion of the story was quite satisfying, I hope for many more tales of the Winged Victory and her Weaver.

This is a lovely piece of science fantasy, a blend of old world magic and future science that includes dragons, space-faring sailing ships, and an alien threat. I finished it in one day because I couldn't put it down once I got into it. My favorite part of it is that it paints a picture of a world that I very much want to hear more about- when a book leaves me wanting more, I know I've enjoyed it. Bravo Muffy Morrigan! Looking forward to the next installment.

This book was amazing in pretty much every way. I loved the idea behind the story and the development of it. I couldn't put it down! It was so incredible and I fell in love with every single character. I laughed and cried and did a victory dance at the end.

How refreshing to read something so different in the fantasy genre! The author has a great imagination with this one and it was truly a fun and grand adventure to read. Hope there are sequels to this one!

The Sail Weaver takes you into an amazing world of weavers, dragons, magic and pirates. It is a world were you will meet the good, the bad and the in-betweens...
Just read it - it is so cool and funny. Just remember to have time to read the next chapter also - because there will be cliffhangers.

I loved this book. It's properly researched & edited. It combines Naval History, Science Fiction & Fantasy in a beautifully-paced & written style. The protagonist is beautifully developed in a way that reminds me of Anne McCaffrey's MasterHarper of Pern. I want him as a friend & mentor. His relationships with other characters are true & deep even whilst he struggles with adversity.
I am a voracious reader & I am so thrilled to have found another expert writer to read, that I have just bought all of Ms Morrigan's other ebooks.
Thank you, Muffy.

This is by far the best book I’ve read this year. It completely swept me off my feet — I loved it from the very first page to the very last, and it’s actually a bit hard to put into words just how utterly epic, fantastic, and amazing this book is.

I love this book and have listened to it several times at this point, every time is equally amazing.  🥰

Official review of Danish libraries

It’s a complex and wide-ranging tale that blends space sci-fi with steampunk, fantasy, Jules Verne, and maritime terms from the age of sailing ships, resulting in an exciting and unusual book for seasoned readers. The cast of characters is large, the hero is sympathetic and thoughtful, and he is friends with a sweet and protective dragon. There’s quite a lot to keep track of in the linguistically lively narrative, and the plot may be driven more by dialogue than by outright action. Overall, however, the book is well-crafted and full of imagination. Captivating cover!

Wow, this book was just so good! And I’m so glad I finally got around to reading it.
The language, despite the use of both nautical terms and at times fairly technical vocabulary, is easy to read and flows smoothly, with vivid descriptions and a creepy undertone that followed me all the way through.
The universe is original and unlike anything I’ve ever come across before. The idea of magical sailing ships in space, combined with dragons and seafaring life, is nothing short of brilliant, and it reminded me at times of the Hornblower series, the Temeraire series, Star Trek, and Starship Troopers.
The plot is well put together, with plenty of twists that make it hard to guess what will happen next, and the story is incredibly exciting. It’s packed with action, full of magic, life at sea, intrigue, betrayal, assassinations, secrets, friendship, monsters, space battles, pirates, and dragons. I devoured the book in one sitting and couldn’t put it down until, far too quickly, it was over. I was in no way ready to let go of the characters and the universe, and I wish the book were part of a series so I could continue the spacefaring voyage.

Sci-fi and fantasy in a mix I never thought possible – but it works surprisingly well! The American author Muffy Morrigan has pulled off quite an achievement with this adventurous sci-fi novel.
I was hooked from the very first page, and I especially enjoyed the friendship between Tristan and the dragon Fenfyr. It reminded me a bit of Eragon and Saphira.

After the Frost

I want to second, third and etc. all the other reviewers who posted before me. This is a fantastically beautiful book, poetic , full of lyricism. Ms. Owyns wrote a wonderful love story between to scarred men, one physically ill the other traumatized after the great world. The book is beautiful, the writing is masterful. The description of the nature surrounding the cabin where the story is set, are breathtaking. You can see it, feel it, hear it, smell it. It's so lovely that you just want it to go on and on reading it, it makes you want to experience the place, the animals, the critters, everything. And the love story itself is slowly paced, which makes it more real. There is heartache, but no silly "just because I had to write some misunderstanding at 75% of the book" angst. And there's hope. A lot of hope. So, don't miss this one, it's a little gem of a book.

There is so much to love about this story. The characters are well defined and interesting. It is so easy to love Julian and root for him to be with William not just for a year but for many many years. I like that their romance takes some time to develop and it is all the more touching and credible for it. Their love is so gentle and heartwarming with no contrived angst. The writing is lovely, the description of the surroundings and nature so lyrical and poetic that I wish I could be there with these guys. I never know the sound of rain and wind could be so beautiful!

Beautifully written love story. Highly recommend! I was enthralled with the poetic writing of this story and the descriptions of nature...I felt like I was there! Seeing & FEELING everything thru Julian's soul was very heartwarming.

I absolutely loved this book! The writing is beautiful and poetic and the characters so real and so loving. I agree with the other reviewer that it doesn't matter what your gender or orientation is - it is a true love story that crosses those lines and could just as easily have been written about any two people that have found their soul mate. True love is true love and that's what this book is all about. I loved the poetry and all of the sights, scents and wonders of nature brought to life and woven throughout. Bravo! I will look for more books by this author and perhaps a poetry book?

Susan Reaves, amazon.com

This book is lovely. The prose is lyrical. The message is clear. Love can heal you. The lack of it can make you ill. The descriptions of life in the wilderness in the Pacific Northwest of 1928 are painted so vividly. While reading this book I could almost smell the smells, hear the sounds and see the sights that are described by the author as she paints lovely word pictures of the beautiful surroundings that are shared by the men in the story. The main love story, as well as a secondary one in the novel, are both so special and dear. I just really enjoyed reading about these men who met and loved in a different era than our own.

This is the only offering I can find by this author either on Amazon.com or the Net so I am assuming that this is a first novel. It is so well done. I really hope that we will hear more from PG Owyns soon.
